A record of technical notes on PowerSchool.

8.3.2007 - PS TechSupport Ref#00294980

Step 1:
Reloaded the data file from July 29. Pre-EOY and v.4.3.6 For some weird reason, North had 2007-2008 Term created and am dealing with "duplicate school setup data". Working with article # 2992 "duplicate school setup data caused by creating multiple year terms" only there are NO multiple year terms. Just ONE really corrupt term. Here goes....
Step 2:
Attendance Codes: deleting out the 150's duplicate numbers, being ever so careful to NOT use the back button
Attendance Conversions: there's two (of course!@#$) ID's 46 & 47 - which one to delete...hmmmm - checking Bell Schedules - two of these also with ID's 46 & 47...better delete the same same ID's...geezzzz -- deleted ID 47 AC and BS
FTE's: also deleting FTE ID#47
Bell Schedules: deleted ID#47 duplicate
Periods and Days: in Years & Terms left 10 periods changed the duplicated days(2) to 1--then cleaned up/renamed the periods in School/Setup but had to go to DDA to clean up the period numbers.
Attendance Preferences: deleted duplicate records in DDA, resubmitted page within School/Setup - looks good so far
Terms: NO duplicate terms! so who knows what happened here..arrrgggg
Step 3:
Pre EOY preparation......for the 3rd..or is it the 4th time!
Step 1: backup PS data file
Validate enrollment dates: done by secretaries at end of school year
Print Reports: printed all report cards by grade level
Years & Terms: done
NexSchool Indicator: done with 1,2,PK4, waiting for PK3--what a mess | done with 3-12
NextSchool Grade:
Activities: done
Default Grade Level for FTE's: done
Scheduling: Grant-split year long/commit: done GHS-split year long/commit: done
PowerGrade Backup: done
Meal Transactions: done (export student names, grade level, balance1 and balance2)
Historical Grades: did not do but I really like to have this done
Last step before EOY - backing up entire PSPro Data Folder

It's 11:48 a.m. Running PS 4.3.9 update NOW
okay..it's 12:08 p.m. - ran the update but now can't connect to server....this must be a known issue. It's happened to me both times I've run this updater on my application. argggggg

Note: Custom Fields in this data file I thought were all good but so far found one that is not-John Aguirre
